Mission Statement: We work to improve access to nature and green spaces for everyone.
We exist to help provide and advocate for access to natural areas specifically for the purpose of improving physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. We believe, and research supports, that this is good for the health of individuals, communities, society (including the economy), and the Earth as a whole.
Our main focus is to advocate for the conversion of vacant and abandoned land in urban and rural areas into pocket parks, urban gardens, and to walkable, forested areas for use by the general public. Not only does this improve community aesthetics, property values, and tax base, but it helps provide children and adults with much needed access to nature, and the associated improvements in physical and mental health, as well as spiritual meaning and purpose.
